Random Thoughts

--I went to the Grizzlies game against the Chicago Bulls last night, and I must tell you, I was not impressed with the effort. I guess the whole arena got the memo that it indeed was the first preseason game--I ordered a Killian's and they didn't have it, apparently the "Rollings Stones" and "Los Lonley Boys" are going to be in concert December 3rd, no one actually scored or got a foul according to the scoreboard, and Randy Holcomb was getting significant minutes for the Bulls. Yep, it was the first preseason game. On the good side, though, Hakim Warrick was hyper-agressive taking the ball to the rack. He will be my favorite player this year.

--Houston may have 1365 yards of offense on Saturday against the Tigers. Just a thought.

--I guess watching the Cardinals as much as I do, I take for granted how good they are. They have it all, except for good middle relief. They jumped on Andy Pettitte last night. When did Reggie Sanders become Reggie Jackson?

--Celebrity news: Jude Law and Sienna Miller are finally breaking up--and if Jude wears things like this a lot, I can see why-

Nice scarf, Jude. Apparently, though, Sienna Miller is the anti-Tara Reid...Reid of course, ruined the seasons of Brian Urlacher and Tom Brady a few years ago when she dated them. When Miller was with Scarf Boy, he was in about 35 movies and became one of the biggest stars in the world, and now she's been seen with Daniel Craig, who I've never heard of, but appears to be the next James Bond. I guess I need to hook up with Sienna--I'd have a syndicated show within a month--coming soon: Will is Burning!! Tuesdays at 3:30 am on ESPN 8-The Ocho! It doesn't hurt that she's one of the most beautiful women on the planet, either.

--Coach K is the new coach of the USA Olympic basketball team. It's a shame, really, that I have to root for another country now.

--Mel Stottlemyre ripped George Steinbrenner on his way out yesterday. If it wasn't certain that he wasn't going to be the pitching coach next season, it is now. And Stottlemyre will be at the bottom of the Hudson River with concrete galoshes by next week. You won't hear his name bandied about as a possible pitching coach elsewhere, because he'll be dead.
